Abstract (EN)

With the developing technology, scientists have started to use many material structures found in nature. In addition to the materials that found naturally in the world, man-made artificial structures have begun to appear in recent years. Metamaterials are the one of the most widely used among the these structures. The main feature of the metamaterial structures is that the real part of the dielectric constant, magnetic permeability and refractive index values can be negative at the same time. In this thesis, chiral metamaterial based sensor designs have been realized. Structures designed as multi-functional, capable of making non-destructive measurement of construction material structures. In addition, it provides the possibility of distinguishing hazardous chemicals from each other and making density determination of chemical substances. Also, it proposes solutions to the adulteration of gasoline, diesel and olive oil that are frequently seen in our country. After the design strucutres, firstly the dielectric constant values of the samples are measured with the help of dielectric probe kit at X band frequency. The obtained dielectric constant values defined to the simulation device in the microwave software program using the Finite Integration Technique (FIT) method and the scattering parameters known as S parameters are obtained. The structures designed in the simulator program are manufactured by using LPKF E33 PCB circuit production device. KEYSIGHT PNA-L N5234A network analyzer was used to obtain experimental data under laboratory conditions.
