Abstract (EN)
?Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Archaeological SalvageExcavations: Stone and Bone Finds?. In this study, the stone and bone findsof the salvage excavations realized on a 1074 km.s part in the Turkishterritories of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline (BTC COP) havebeen evaluated in respect of archaeology. The stone and bone finds havebeen reviewed as a whole without distinguishing different periods, they havebeen described, classified and catalogued.Various finds comprising this thesis, which consist of stone, bone, horn, teeth and see shells obtained from 10 centers show a very widedistribution, ranging from the Early Iron Age to the end of the Middle Age. Adensity of the finds has not been observed which may qualify a specificperiod. The limiting of the BTC COP archaeological salvage excavations witha 28 meters corridor which will be destroyed by the pipeline may well be oneof the reasons. The small finds and architectural ruins found systematically, although obtained in a very narrow land, have presented highly importantresults in respect of Anatolian archaeology. The finds described andclassified in this limited area. The stone and bone finds have been dated parallel to the ceramics, small finds and architectural ruins, because these finds are small daily toolsof small settlements, not specific tools of a culture which will date a specificperiod alone.
