Abstract (EN)
The study examined the foundations of cash waqfs invented and spread in the Ottoman Empire, based on the foundation institution dating back to the early years of Islamiyet. Within this scope, 28 Arabic Waqfiyah registered at Istanbul Balat Court have been examined. The waqfiyahs studied cover H. 965-1024 (M. 1558-1615). Various charts and tables were created by analyzing the contents of the waqfiyahs and grouping and interpreting the data obtained. The amount of money, the operating methods, the expenses of the waqf, the variety of the waqf, the registration methods, its employees and many items were discussed. In addition, various names of places mentioned in the waqfiyahs have been mentioned. According to the information available, the current status of the waqf has also been identified.
