Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, defense industry is of great importance. Countries that made investments in this industry are in the significant levels both military and economic fields. Many investigations are being made to develop protective armors that used in defense systems.Composite materials play an important role in the development of armor systems. Weight disadvantage of steel and similar materials that are being used in conventional armor systems paved the way for search about composite materials.Ballistic behaviors of composite materials that are used in human body armors investigated in experimental method. This study designed as two stages. With first stage experimental studies, it was aimed to obtain data about differences of sequences in armor specimens. By second stage experimental studies, effect and importance of combination of Aramid fabric fiber in armor specimens was investigated.Specimens prepared by different combination of different layers that are aramid fabric, carbon fiber, resin reinforced polyprophlen honeycomb and steel sifter wire that shaped in resin. Safir T14 long-barreled rifle and Yavascalar 36 caliber one cored projectile were used to define ballistic behaviors of the specimens. As a result of this study it is obtained from those different combinations of the same materials show different ballistic behaviors.
