Abstract (EN)
This study to investigate of the effects of an E. purpurea extract on the fish sepsis model using NBT, MPO and lysozym test. Sepsis is an acute life-threatening clinical condition and remains the main reason of death in intensive care units. The aim of the study is to investigate the immunostimulant effects of the methanolic extracts of short term administration of E. purpurea (extract of E. purpurea) on the septic fish was in the early and at the end stage of sepsis. Sepsis was caused by Aeromonas hydrophila that has been injected intraperitoneally in Cyprinus carpio on the first day of experiment I and in the seventh day of experiment II. Two different concentrations of extracts (24 mg and 36 mg) were orally administered to Cyprinus carpio (4,54 ± 0.1 g) for one week in the experiment I and for 18 days in the experiment II. In this study, we report that E. purpurea at low dose (24 mg) significantly increased some non-specific immune parameters such as respiratory burst, myeloperoxidase, and lysozyme.
