Abstract (EN)

Septicemia disease is a lethal case and threat the life that arises when the body's response to injuries of infection its own organs and tissues due to it is the most common cause of death. Immune response modulation to sepsis disease has been of interest for a long time. A lot of plants used in traditional medicines for treatment of sepsis have been seen to stimulate responses of immunity, and several active principles have been characterized and isolated from such plants. Thus, this study was undertaken to evaluate the immunomodulatory properties of curcumin (Curcuma longa) extract in artificial infected common carp (Cyprinus Carpio) fish by using non-specific immune parameters are included Nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and lysozyme assay. The fish with a weight average of 8±2 g were fed with the extract at two concentrations 24 mg/kg and 36 mg/kg for 7 days in experiment 1 and 18 days in experiment 2. The healthy common carp fish were challenged with (1 × 108 CFUs/ml) A. hydrophila by intraperitoneal injection on the first day for experiment 1 and seventh day for experiment 2 post feeding. Nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT), myeloperoxidase production (MPO) and lysozyme activities were determined on days 1, 3, and 7 in experiment 1 and on days 12, 15 and 18 in experiment 2. The results found that significant changes (p < 0.05) in non-specific immune parameters (NBT, MPO) for all sampling days of all experimental groups , with exception in results of lysozyme activity were found no significant changes (P>0.05) among dietary treatments than that in control group.
