The change of some climate parameters and drought situations i̇n balikesir due to global warming

Climate change is that threatens people with disasters such as lethal heat waves, famines, droughts, forest fires, floods, storms and diseases. Forecasting changes as early as possible; is of great importance in determining the measures to be taken and in terms of preventing the changes that may occur with destructive consequences. The need for research has been felt on how Balıkesir province, which has specific importance such as its location, special topography, different climate types, large agricultural lands, water resources and renewable energy resources, will be affected by global climate change and drought. In the study, statistical data of the General Directorate of Meteorology for the 1938-2019 periods were used. As for climate change scenarios; Two scenarios (SSPs4.5 and SSPs8.5) produced with the outputs of SSPs-Shared Socioeconomic Pathways and annual average total precipitation and annual average total temperature values for the present (2020) and 2040-2100 periods were used. De Martonne, Emberger and Lang climate indices were used to determine the climate types. And the result according to the climate parameters, it is expected that there will be a significant increase in temperature values, the amount of precipitation will decrease significantly, and the drought will reach serious dimensions in the province by 2100 compared to today.
