Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the effects of bank acquisitions and mergers on share certificates were investigated. The history, reasons, and development of bank acquisitions and mergers have been examined in detail in our country and in the world. In the study, the data sets made after 2000 buying banks in Turkey and mergers are selected. Akbank T.A.Ş., Denizbank A.Ş., Finansbank A.Ş., Şekerbank T.A.Ş., T. Garanti Bankası A.Ş. and Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş. It was among the banks examined in the analysis. The effect of the purchase and merger activities of the mentioned banks on the share certificates has been analyzed by the Event Analysis method. According to the results of the analysis, it is concluded that the banks' purchasing and merger activities have a positive or negative effect on their shares.
