Participatory administration applications in banking sector: A field study on private and public banks

With the globalizing process today?s world has become a single market and businesses and firms have found themselves in a harsh competition in order to gain a share in this market. In this competitive world the businesses and firms are required to keep up with the changes and innovations in the field and modernize their administrative ways and techniques so that they can survive.One of the modern and postmodern notions and techniques of administration is referred to as participatory administration applications. By prioritizing creative side of humans, participatory administration applications function as an effective instrument of competition that enables the utmost use of opinions and ideas available. So, they have become an important practice for the firms that wish to develop their competitive power by forming a democratic structure in the organization. In this study before moving on to the participatory administration model, the factors playing an important role in changing administrative approaches towards modern and postmodern dimensions by considering the notion of administration as a whole have been tackled . In the second part of the present study the model of participatory administration has been theoretically studied, and then the participatory administration applications that overlap with this empiric study have been presented. In the third part, data obtained through analyses have been interpreted regarding how the concept of the participatory administration studied in the theoretical part was perceived by the bank staff in terms of its content, level and form comparatively both in private and public banking sector and to what extent it was reflected in practice.Keywords: Administration, Growth of Administration, Participatory Administration.
