Relationship Between Eating Behaviors and Depression Levels of Patients after Bariatric Surgery Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between eating behaviors and depression levels of patients after Bariatric surgery. Materials and Methods: This descriptive and correlational research was conducted between July 2018 and September 2019 at the General Surgical Outpatient Clinic of the Fırat University Hospital. The population of the study consisted of 1000 adult patients. The study sample consisted of 278 patients determined by the power analysis. In the study, "Introductory Characteristics Form" was used to determine patients' descriptive characteristics, the "Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire" was used to determine eating their behaviors, and the "Beck Depression Inventory" was used to determine their levels of depression. The data were collected by the researcher with the face-to-face interview method at least one month after the surgery. In the evaluation of the data, percentile distribution, arithmetic mean and Pearson correlation analysis was used. Results: Eating behaviors score of the patients included in the study was high (104.38±10.29) and depression level score was low (17.87± 7.71). A positive, weak, but statistically significant relationship was found between eating behaviors and depression levels of patients (r=.190 p=.002). Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was determined that there was an increase in eating behaviors of patients, and their depression levels were found to be low.
