Abstract (EN)
Bartın, which has hosted many civilizations from ancient times until today, was hosted by the Ottoman State. Indeed, when we look at the Bartın province, it will be seen that the civilization in question carries artistic, cultural and historical traces. One of these is the mosque, fountain, bridge, bath and tomb stone inscriptions. The aim of this study is to read, understand and realize the inscriptions in Bartın province. The inscriptions found in Bartın and Amasra, Ulus, Kurucaşile districts were first photographed, transferred to computer environment and finally translated into today's Turkish. Secondly, Arabic words in the inscriptions were written and the five desired characteristics of these words were written. In addition, brief information about Bartın and the inscriptions was given. While researching the inscriptions in Bartın, both Arabic words were explained and primary sources were used. It was determined that the mosques, bridges, baths and households were not found in the townships of Ulus and Amasra except Bartın province. Grave inscriptions are available in every district including the center. The number of Arabic words in the mosque inscriptions in the central district is generally about half the number of all the words in the inscription. The number of Arabic words found in the inscriptions found in the tombstones in the districts was generally determined to be one-third of the number of words in the grave inscriptions. This situation shows us that Arabic words are used a lot in the inscriptions. Ottoman Turkish is one of the world's richest writing languages consisting of Arabic, Persian and Turkish words. It can be said that the Arabic words in the inscriptions are from nouns except for a few words. These words, which are of the name type, consist of three-letter words as root except for a few words. Keywords: Arabic; Bartın; mosque; word; inscription; tomb; Ottoman.
