Abstract (EN)
The new program that is being applied since 2004, is evaluated several times according to the opinions of the teachers. Evaluation of the education programs in practice will come out in consequence of qualitatively examining the apllied field. The aim of the present study is to search out how frequently the primary education second grade mathematics teachers apply mathematics course program and to investigate whether there is a relationship between apllying the program and the success levels of the schools. The study was conducted via case-study method, with six primary education mathematics teachers from different schools. In order to determine how frequently the programs are applied, observations were conducted in the classes of the teachers, two hours a week along four-week period. For the purpose of learning about the opinions of the teachers, interviews were conducted with the teachers, after the observations. After data analyses, the frequency of program application in each school was determined, the schools are listed in order according to their frequencies of applying the program, the success levels are compared according to the frequency of applying the program, and a relationship between these variables was investigated. It is revealed that application of the program affected success levels of the schools. It is observed that, in order to increase the success levels of the school, application of only the constructivist program is not sufficient. The evaluation criteria of the applied program must be in parallel with the general evaluation criteria (SBS) that is used along with the program. In order for the changes in the education program to be applied as anticipated, there is a need for a comprehensive teacher education.Key Words: Applied Education Program, New Program
