The Franco-Prussian War was fought between 19 July 1870 and 10 May 1871 between the French Empire and the Kingdom of Prussia. After a long siege, Paris surrendered to the Germans on 28 January 1871. The war in question III. It led to the fall of Napoleon and the establishment of the French Third Republic, which brought the end of the Second French Empire. In addition, the Franco-Prussian War was the most important and last stage of the German unity. During the period of the war, Basiret, an important publication in the Ottoman Empire, had numerous news about the war. Hayrettin of Poland, one of the important writers of the newspaper, evaluated the war in his articles. In these news and articles the newspaper has clearly been a Prussian supporter. Polish Hayrettin evaluated the Prussian-French war over the relationship between Prussia and Russia. Hayrettin, who thought that Russia was uncomfortable with the strengthening of Prussia, argued that Russia and the Ottoman Empire were already two enemies and therefore there should be an alliance between the Ottoman Empire and Prussia.
