Unsportsmanlike behaviors that basketball and soccer referees? meet and analyzing that behaviors about some variables

The purpose of this study is to analyze the unsportsmanlike behaviors that basketball and soccer referees? meet and analyzing those behaviors considering some variables.There are 192 basketball, 129 soccer and totally 321 referees officiating in Turkey's 1st, 2nd and 3rd league of basketball and soccer voluntarily participated in this study. ?Personal Information and Opinion Form? and ?Unsportsmanlike Behaviors Questionnaire? were used in the study as the data-collection tools.At the end of this research, the opinion?s of basketball and soccer referees were evaluated; in addition, basketball and soccer referees? scores collected through the questionnaire were differed from the age, gender, class of place that mostly lived, education level, undergraduate faculty of the referees, years in officiating, number of match officiated in one season, officiating league of previous season and whether the referee professionally participated in that particular sport according to the resource of the unsportsmanlike behavior, according to the direction of the action, and the type of action taken place. In addition, football and basketball league comparisons in terms of the unsportsmanlike behaviors were compared and it has been supported with the data that unsportsmanlike behaviors and their magnitude differ from basketball to football.
