The participle and their functions in Bashkir Turkish

The participle and their functions in Bashkir Turkish, Master Teziz, Ankara, 2008.This study starts with background information on the history of Bashkir Turks and the Bashkir Turkish. Later, the definitions and functions of participles in the grammar books in Bashkir Turkish and Turkish of Turkey are given.The participle affixes in Bashkir Turkish were determined and their equivalent forms in Turkish of Turkey were presented. To achieve this, firstly examples of participle affixes were selected with the sentences they appear in from literary and scientific texts written in Bashkir Turkish. Then, these examples of participle affixes with the sentences they appear in were translated into Turkish of Turkey. By categorizing the selected and translated participle affixes, we studied their vocality, various usages and functions. Thus, the characteristics of the use of participle affixes in Bashkir Turkish and Turkish of Turkey language were identified. Just like in Turkish of Turkey, in Bashkir Turkish the participle affixes can be used in sentences in noun and adjective forms and with gerunds and prepositions.
