Abstract (EN)

This study is conducted to define how effective innovative teaching methods used in basic beginner guitar lessons are for elementary students. A website is designed and used within the study in order to improve the efficacy of the experimental process and to let the experimental group students follow the study being conducted. In the study, Solomon Four-Group Design with pretest and posttest control groups is used as the experimental design. The working group of the study within Solomon Four-Group Design is consisted of 40 students having guitar lessons at the weekends in classical guitar club at Özel Güneş Koleji in 2015-2016 education period. As data collection tool, "Equivalency Test", "Grading Key For Evaluating Students' Guitar Playing Ability" and "Expert Opinion Form" are used. Guitar playing ability of the students in working group is defined by the observer using Equivalency Test and in accordance with the results obtained, experimental and control groups are formed by impartial appointment by the researcher. In pretest and posttest stages carried out by the researcher, the performances of the students are recorded and evaluated by the experts using "Grading Key". In data analysis SPSS 20 package program is used. Man-Whitney U Test is practiced to define whether there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest results of the students in control and experimental group. Control and experimental groups are trained accordingly by the researcher for 12 weeks and 24 lessons. During the research, students in control and experimental group are trained to play the songs "Ağaçkakan" and " Ilkbahar" in experimental processing stages. According to the findings of the study; to define the reliability of the quantitative data obtained by grading key, reliability between graders is investigated. So the coefficient of correlation between graders is calculated. The coefficient of correlation between graders is 98,9. By this result, it is concluded that the data obtained from the graders is reliable. To define the reliability of equivalency test and quantitative data acquired by grading key formed by the researcher, reliability between graders is examined. For this reason, the coefficient of correlation between graders is calculated. According to that, the coefficient of correlation is 98,9. By this result, it is concluded that data obtained from the graders is reliable. On evaluating the results as a whole, according to the comparisons on the efficacy of the Solomon Four-Group Design, the model is effective. It means experimental processes have helped the students improve their abilities to perform "Ağaçkakan" and " Ilkbahar" significantly.
