Özet (EN)

The Equid family has stood by human kind for ages in terms of world wide availability and usefulness. Wile they were animal to hunt for their meat before being domesticated, they have been one of the most important tolls that human beings benefit from because of their functionality for production purposes in daily life and their usefulness in wars. They have become an important figure in visual and plastic arts since the first time they started to be drawn on cave walls. Within the scope of the thesis, Equus Caballus, one of the subspecies of this family, has been primarily examined. A large part of Asia, Anatolia, Near East, Eastern Mediterranean, Aegean Islands, Central Europe geographies were examined and the use of individuals belonging to the equid family in burial traditions was investigated. The density of Equus Caballus burials has been observed in Asia, Anatolia, Aegean Islands and Central Europe. The density of Equus Asinus burials is observed in the Near East and Eastern Mediterranean. In addition, it was found that war and funeral chariots were buried in the context of these burial traditions in some centers.
