Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to develop a monitoring system and a face mask forehead component to monitor and evaluate the use of orthodontic face mask and to record the duration and order of use. The new monitoring system consists of 3 main parts: the main body box, the cover of the box and the microprocessor circuit including pressure and temperature sensors. The forehead box and its cover are designed in a digital environment and printed on a three-dimensional printer. In order to test the new monitoring system, the head model with three different forehead types has been printed on the three-dimensional printer. The microprocessor circuit is completed and placed in the box and the monitoring system is programmed. The system has been tested in laboratory conditions. A detailed analysis of the data obtained at the end of the study showed that the monitoring system correctly monitors the attachment and removal processes. The new type of orthodontic face mask can monitor the duration and the order of use. Conclusion of the study shows that the system is suitable formonitoring the weartime and further clinical studies are required.
