Examining the news on technology addiction in the press from a social work perspective

With the current influence of technology in human relations and in all areas of life, the importance of technology addiction as a subject is felt more in mass media and press organs. Technology addiction is the inability to provide self-control against the behavior that a person experiences lack. With the spread of technology to every area of life day by day, technology addiction becomes inevitable. Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of cases and research related to technology addiction. The aim of this study is to evaluate the presentation of news and columns about technology addiction in the press in the context of social work. When examining the databases, the newspapers that frequently include the subject Sabah, Milliyet, Hurriyet, NTV, Anadolu Agency, It was seen that Habertürk and BBC were Turkish and the data of these press channels were examined in the study. The presentation of these news presentations and columns on technology addiction has been analyzed from a social service perspective. While the research was conducted, the document analysis method was used, and the data obtained were classified according to the press source examined in the context of social work. The findings of the research have been shown to be a guide in the awareness and prevention processes in terms of the relationship between social service and technology addiction.
