Abstract (EN)
This study analyzes the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the West Mediterranean Region, comprising Antalya, Isparta, and Burdur. The first part of the thesis explores the concept of entrepreneurship, the ecosystem approach, and various models of entrepreneurial ecosystems through literature review. Within this framework, the theoretical models developed by Koltai, Eric Stam, and Daniel Isenberg are examined. For the analytical phase, Isenberg's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Model was selected as the most appropriate framework for the regional context. In the second part of the thesis, the current state of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the TR61 Region is evaluated. The research involved semi-structured interviews with 20 ecosystem stakeholders representing different institutional and sectoral backgrounds. The interviews were recorded digitally, transcribed, and analyzed using MAXQDA software. Through content analysis, key themes and recurring patterns were identified, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem's strengths and areas for development. The findings reveal that while the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the TR61 Region is still in a developmental phase, it holds significant potential for acceleration through strategic sectors, higher education institutions, public support mechanisms, and local entrepreneurial motivation. Based on participant insights, the study concludes that efforts should focus on enhancing inter-stakeholder collaboration, increasing investor attractiveness, and transforming cultural perceptions toward entrepreneurship. By highlighting both the structural and dynamic aspects of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, this study contributes to the academic literature and offers practical recommendations for policymakers, local authorities, and ecosystem practitioners.
