Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the current situation of "indigenous sociology" discourses and claims by considering the sociological approaches of Baykan Sezer and Korkut Tuna, who are important representatives of this school, in the context of Istanbul sociology school which is a tradition in the history of Turkish sociology. in this study will focused on local sociology as an alternative against the conditions of Western sociology birth, the terms and theories of Western sociology and the criticism have taken. Our first goal is in the context of the necessity of local sociology, the question is whether the understanding of "indigenous sociology of 19. in the pluralistic and intricate world where monopoly has lost there meaning and whether the understanding of s indigenous sociology of 19. was largely destroyed by the understanding of Western sociology in the 19th century. In this respect, Baykan Sezer and Korkut Tuna's approaches to the subject of indigenous sociology and their various perspectives on sociology are based on. At the end of the study, it is emphasized that the claims of indigenousness that came with globalization have no more importance because they have not their own place in social theory. And as an importnat matter, we should read the indigenous sociology as an effort to overcome certain world conditions. So, it is not more important to discuss whether the theories of Western sociologies values throughout the world are valid in non-Western societies. So the form of indigenous sociology has emerged entirely on this issue and it is not important or meaningful to discussed on this matter as a content of indigenous sociology.
