Abstract (EN)
THE STUDY ABOUT GEOTECHNICAL MAPS ON THE ZONES OF BATIKENT AND OSTIH (M.S.c. Thesis) Suna YTLDIZELi GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ABSTRACT Geotechnical maps maybe a useful tool for civil engine ers an order to know the general so31 conditions of an area before the more detailed soil investigation studies. Geotech njcal maps have been prepared for some areas of Ankara by ot hers (see for example, Aksoy, 1987) Tn this study an attempt has been made to prepare such a map for Batikent and Ostim a- reas. For this purpose the boring made by four private firms., a 90 m boring made by state water works (DSİ), a technical re port about a lands IJde accured in Batikent have been studied and evaluated. Tfte}map of the' area has been made with a scale of 1/5000 by making use of a topographic map with a scale of 1/25 000 obtained from DSi and a 1/5000 map provided Kent-^Koop which depicts thesettl ement layout of the area. The informati on obtained from he geotechni-cal studies mentioned above is.r, class if fed and indicated on the map.
