Abstract (EN)

The increasing use of herbal medicines with natural ingredients for therapeutic purposes, the fact that plants with unique fragrance and aroma constitute a source of raw materials for cosmetics, perfumery and food industry, and the emergence of alternative usage areas in recent years have increased the demand for medicinal and aromatic plants. Another reason for this increase in demand is the tendency towards natural products and natural treatment methods due to the increase in the side effects of chemical products in our country and worldwide. Although the desired amount of medicinal and aromatic plants, whose usage areas and amount are increasing day by day, cannot be cultivated yet, Turkey is one of the countries with very rich ecological conditions and opportunities in terms of cultivation. The fact that Lavandula angustifolia Mill., which is the subject of our research, has low climate selectivity and soil requirements, its resistance to cold and drought, its wide range of uses, and its long years of productivity potential makes lavender cultivation attractive. The aim of this master's thesis study was to determine the effect of microbial fertilizer applied at different doses to Lavadula angustifolia L. plant, which was grown for the first time in the ecological conditions of Bayburt province, on yield and yield elements and quality characteristics. Microbial fertilizer applications were made on Lavadula angustifolia L. species for the first time for the ecological conditions of Bayburt province. Within the scope of the research, four different fertilizer doses control, 1 L/da, 2 L/da and 4 L/da) were applied and the longest plant height (68.3 cm) was measured in the plot where control dose was applied and the shortest plant height (56.0 cm) was measured in the plot where 2 L/da fertilizer dose was applied. In addition, the highest value for the number of clusters per spike (6.49 pieces) was determined in the plot with 4 L/da fertilizer dose and the lowest value (5.99 pieces) was determined in the plot with 2 L/da fertilizer dose, while the highest value for the number of flowers per spike (56.63 pieces) was determined in the plot with 2 L/da fertilizer dose and the lowest value (48.45 cm) was determined in the plot with control dose. In addition, the highest essential oil content (5%) was determined in the plot with 4 L/da fertilizer dose. The results obtained show that microbial fertilizer applications support some yield and yield components and quality characteristics for Lavandula angustifolia L. It was determined that low doses of microbial fertilizer applications were sufficient for the cultivation of Lavandula angustifolia L. in the ecological conditions of Bayburt province.
