Abstract (EN)

A series of Schiff bases were synthesized by condensation reaction of 1,4-diamino-benzene, naphthalene-1,5-diamine and 2,6-dichlorobenzene-1,4-diamine compounds with 2,4-dihydroxy-benzaldehyde. Shiff based polimers were synthesized from schiff bases by oxidative polycondensation. Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and air used as oxidant, Polimerization reactions were determined between 40-90 0C. All of the synthesized Schiff bases and polymers were performed solubility tests in aceton, THF, chloroform, acetonitril, ethanol, etylacetat, DMF and DMSO. All compounds were characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectrums. In addition, thermal properties of Schiff bases and polymers were determined by TGA, DTG, DTA and DSC techniques. Photoluminesans (PL) properties of the synthesized compunds were determined in solution forms in DMF. Fluorescence measurements were carried out in various concentrated solutions to determine the optimum concentrations to obtain the maximal PL intensities. The number-average molecular weight (Mn), weight average molecular weight (Mw) and polydispersity index (PDI) values of the synthesized compounds were determined by the size exclusion chromatography (SEC).Keywords: Schiff bases, poly(imine), oxidative polycondensation, Optimum reaction condition
