Abstract (EN)

Our country has ~ 72% of world's boron reserves. Because of this, the use of boron compounds in ceramics provides a great advantage in terms of industry. On the other hand some boron compounds as well as deteriorating the fluidity of the ceramic suspension by dissolving in water and because of the negativities in the baked mace layer, only is used by fritting. In addition, wherefore boron compounds such as boric acid and borax show the feature of dissolving in water, rheological behaviors of glaze suspension are negatively affected if they are used raw. This makes it difficult to apply the glaze suspension as a homogeneous and completely covering layer to the ceramic body. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the availability of boron compounds in glaze suspensions in raw form. In this context, it is aimed to modify the surface of the boron compounds by physical adsorption with a hydrophobic material in order to prevent the boron compounds from dissolving in water.
