Relations of physiological and morphological with yield in some hazelnut varieties

Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is intended to specify yield and some physiological and morphological relations at two different altitudes on Kara, Palaz and Tombul hazelnut varieties. Morphological differentiation had happened on Kara variety between 23th of July – 21st of August, on Palaz variety between 15th of July – 6th of August and on Tombul variety between 15th of July – 6th of August. All three variety haves the Protogny flowering. Total number of buds varies between 121.889 and 680.111. Buds that turned into female flowers varies between 24.778 and 298.889. Ratio of turning into female flower varies 13.183% to 41.650%. Total number of clusters are between 21.222 to 105.000 Ratio of small fruit loss is between 14.366% to 31.920%. The most female flower ratio on the buds of fruit branches are at 1st bud is 25.52%. Total leaf area is between 34.514 cm2 to 88.672 cm2. Chlorophyll density varies 28.562 to 38.748. The highest values for wideness of crown projection area, diameter of main branch, side branch length and diameter on Tombul variety gained at low altitudes; At high altitudes highest values of shoot numbers and diameter gained for Palaz variety. While Palaz hazelnut vareity grows most fruit branch and Kara hazelnut variety grows longest fruit branch at lower altitudes, the Tombul hazelnut variety grows the thickest fruit branches in same area.
