Predictions of the reaction observables for some light exotic nuclei with semi-classical approach

Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, it is aimed to calculate nuclear reaction observables of scatterings in which light exotic nuclei involve as a projectile, with semi-classical approximation. The reaction observables, elastic, quasi-elastic and inelastic cross sections, are calculated by using optical model and coupled channels method. Nuclear level density is used to determine the deformation parameters values needed in coupled channels method. To use nuclear level density in such a challenging problem, all required analysis are done and its shortcomings are stated. How to include collective effects in nuclear level density, which is the main shortcoming, is solved by redefining the excitation energy dependence of the nuclear level density including collective effects with a Laplace-like formula. By means of this formula, a new connection is also established between the distribution of the excited levels of nucleus and its deformation parameter. With this new proposed formula, the increased role of the single particle potential terms in the nuclear level density parameter is investigated and it is also analyzed that, which single particle potential combination is better for which mass region. In addition to these, it allows to establish a new connection between the statistical structire properties of nuclei and the nuclear reaction observables, thus the deformation parameter values obtained from this formula can be used in coupled channels method. Elastic, inelastic and quasi-elastic cross sections of reactions that 6He and 8He, which are popular light exotic nuclei, scattered from 12C, 4He, and 9Be, are predicted and compared with the existing experimental data. Predictions agree well with the experimental data, and therefore newly proposed nuclear level density formulation can be considered as a reliable tool, which can be used in nuclear reaction problems. Finally, for the future studies about 6He and 8He, some perspectives are given.
