Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to identify genetic differences among 12 selfed tomato lines obtained from a private company using 20 Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) markers and to distinguish these lines as distinct candidate varieties through molecular analysis. A total of 139 alleles were detected, with the number of alleles per marker ranging from 3 to 10. The polymorphism information content (PIC) values ranged from 0,562 to 0,893, with an average PIC value of 0,810, indicating a moderate level of genetic diversity among the lines. Cluster analysis was performed using the UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean) method, and the resulting dendrogram grouped the tomato lines into two major clusters, each containing several subgroups. Each selfed tomato line was assigned a unique identification code based on the molecular sizes of the alleles produced by the SSR markers, enabling effective identification among these lines. The results of this study demonstrate that SSR markers are a reliable and effective tool for distinguishing selfed tomato lines and can be particularly valuable in cases where traditional identification methods are inadequate. These findings suggest that SSR-based molecular characterization can support breeding programs, seed certification, and the conservation of genetic resources.
