Determining of feed value of some sainfoin lines

This thesis was conducted to determine the hay yield and feed value of sainfoin lines. In the research; ten different sainfoin lines (1, 7, 8, 10, 23, 26, 27, 33, 37 and 43) were used as material. The research was established as a randomized complete block design with three replications. In the study; crude nutrients, tannis, cell wall contents, relative feed value, organic matter digestibility, metabolic energy, green herbage yield, dry matter yield, organic matter yield, crude protein yield and digestibilty organic matter characteristics were investigated. In the results of research; green herbage yield, dry herbage yield, crude protein yield, digestibility organic matter7 yield ranged from 6012-9513 kg/da, 1330-2280 kg/da, 1167-2156 kg/da, 196-352 kg/da and 783-1376 kg/da respectively. As result; 8, 7, 10 and 43 lines can be recommended in Tekirdağ and similar ecological conditions, in order to obtain the highest dry matter, organic matter, crude protein and digestibility organic matter yields.
