Abstract (EN)
This study analysed the chromosome numbers and karyotypes of eight species from the subgenus Botryanthus of the genus Muscari, which are distributed in Turkey. Of these species, five (M. adilii, M. anatolicum, M. bourgaei, M. latifolium, M. sandrasicum) are endemic to Turkey. Cytotaxonomic studies were conducted using bulbs obtained from collected specimens. The chromosome numbers of the species were determined, and their ideograms were drawn through karyotype analysis. The chromosome number of the examined taxa was generally determined as 2n=2x=18. However, in the case of M. anatolicum and M. parviflorum species, the somatic chromosome number was determined as 2n=4x=36. Haploid chromosome lengths varied from 26.00 μm (M. adilii) to 101.74 μm (M. parviflorum). The taxa studied generally had chromosomes with median dotted (M), median region (m), submedian (sm), and subterminal (st) centromeres. Satellites were observed in M. adilii and M. latifolium.
