Prof. Dr. Ahmet Erhan ÖZDEMİRThis research aims to bring out different methods for the Maria Aurelia andOrion nectarines cultivars with postharvest treatments after harvesting for keepingthe quality, reducing the physiological disorders and fungal diseases, extending theshelf life. After harvest nectarine fruits were subjected to precooling, intermittentwarming, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) or combination of thesetreatments and fruits were pleaced into viols inside carton boxes. After thetreatments fruits were stored for 50 days at 0 oC and 90 % relative humidity in coldstorage. In addition fruits were kept at 20 oC and 60-70 % relative humidity for 4days to determine shelf life. Changes of during storage periods on the fruits wereinvestigated with physical and chemical analysis.In conclusion, for two nectarines cultivar fruit flesh firmness and skin colorwere maintained, but weight loss, TSS, pH, physiological disorders and fungaldiseases slightly increased in fruits from MAP tereatments compared to controlfruits during 30 days of storage. Sensory test scores decreased to cause increasing ofethanol after the 20th day of storage in the MAP treatments and fruits were stored 20days. The treatments of intermittent warming and precooling affected positive forthe control of physiological disorders and fruit flesh firmness. End of 20 days thefungal diseases and physiological disorders were not investigate in Maria Aureliaand Orion nectarine fruits stored in modified atmosphere packages. But thesecriterions were mesaured 12.00 % and 7.50 % in control treatments.Key : Nectarines, MAP, Intermittent Warming, Precooling, DisordersII
