Abstract (EN)
Pollination is a very important part of the life cycle of a flowering plant. In the case of use in breeding studies, it is important to preserve the viability of pollens of pollinator plants. So, it needs to determine storing conditions in order to maintain germination capability of pollens. The high viability and germination capacity of pollens in plants are crucial for successful fertilization and consequently successful fruit formation. Today, there is a great deal of change in how the viability and germination capacities of flower pollen, which are preserved in varios forms and environments. Therefore, the pollens almond, peach and sweet cherry species in the Prunus genus were stored at room temperature (24 °C) fors ix days, in refrigerator (4 °C) for thirty days and freezer (-10 °C, -20 °C, -80 °C) for one hundred twenty days as polen grains and as anter form of flower in this study. Pollens in these conditions were taken in periodic interval, then viability and germination tests on agar medium, with 1 % concentration containing 15 % sucrose, were carried out. While the pollens stored as grains were sown on medium directly, the anters were kept under halojen lamps for twelve hours to obtain pollen grains and then sown. The results of viability and germination capacity of pollens in different storing condiitions were evaluated.
