Abstract (EN)

In general, it is hard to combat olive leaf spot disease with using currently registered fungicides againts this disease in Turkey. Howewer, promising results optained from certain systemic fungicides for controlling the disease have been revailed recently in the world. In addition, electrostatic spraying tecnique, as modern sypraying tecnique, has been well known with better coverage and bilogical efficacies compare to that of tradational spraying method especially application on crops with waxy leaf and fruit such as olive and citrus. In this research, applications both systemic and non-systemic fungicides using electrostatic spraying tecnique gave the best efficacies to control of the disease and better coverage along with less drift, as well. Among the fungicides, boscalid 25.2% + pyraclostrobin 12.8% had the highest effectiveness with 91.26% followed by bordeux mixture containing 124 g / L metallic copper equivalent with 84.10% while trifloxystrobin, another systemic fungicide, controlled the disease with 80.17% when sprayed by electrostatic method. In conventional method, the highest efficacy with 76.86% was obtained from boscalid 25.2% + pyraclostrobin 12.8% followed by bordeux mixture with 71.23% while the lowest efficacy with 65.61% was received from trifloxystrobin application. As a result, systemic fungicides with quinon outside inhibitors and electrostatic spraying method were used successfully at olive orchard for the first time to manage olive leaf spot disease in Turkey. According to the data, systemic fungicide boscalid 25.2% + pyraclostrobin 12.8% and electrostatic spraying tecnique efficiently controlled olive leaf spot disease with 91.26% biological efficacy. These findings can lead further studies to evaluate other potential systemic fungicides by using electrostatic spraying in practice to manage olive leaf spot disease in near future.
