Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to examine the frequency of some sports branches according to blood types and the relationship between blood types and sports branches. The research was fulfilled by applying a survey of Personal Information Form and Body Image Scale consisting of 56 questions and two parts to a total of 1505 athletes 810 of whom are men and 695 of whom are women between the ages of 14-25 licensed in amateur and professional sports clubs. Statistical analysis was evaluated as p<0.05 in SPSS 22 package. It was observed that the distribution of blood types according to sports branches and the level of body image vary widely in terms of the variables of nationality, gender, and sports branches (p<0.05). As a result, it has been confirmed that the A Rh+ blood type is the most common blood type in all sports branches. It was determined that the result obtained was similar to the distribution of the most common blood type in Turkey. It is thought that it would be beneficial to conduct studies in a larger scale within the extent of determining the effect of blood types on branch selection, and that these studies would lead other studies to be carried out and contribute the literature.
