The effect of hormone applications on germination and seedling characters of some medical and aromatical plant seeds

Plants are directly or indirectly the source of life on earth. The increase rapidly in the world population also increases the need for plants, which necessitates applications to increase the amount of product received from the unit area. Especially in recent years, one of the frequently used applications to increase plant development and thus the amount of the product is hormone applications. Plant hormones are substances that play an important role in the growth and development of plants. In this study, the effect of different hormone applications on the development of seedlings of echinacea, nigella and purple basil plants, which have a wide range of uses due to their medicinal aromatic properties, has been tried to be determined. Within the scope of the study, three doses of IAA, IBA, NAA and GA3 hormones were applied on the seeds of the plants subject to the study, intensely (1 000 ppm, 2 500 ppm and 5 000 ppm) and diluted (50 ppm, 100 ppm and 200 ppm), so that each 26 applications were carried out for one species. Percentage of applications germination (CY), root length (KOKB), root number (KOKS), root collar diameter (KBC), unbranched stem length (DSZG), stem diameter (GC), total height (TB), number of leaves (YS) , the effect on the number of coats (KT), the largest leaf length (ENBY), the largest leaf width (ENBYE) and leaf stem length (YSU) characters were determined. As a result of the study, it has been determined that there are very high differences between some characters on the basis of type. The data obtained as a result of the study reveal that the hormones applied affect the characters subject to the study at different levels. This result is extremely important for implementation. Using the results of the study, hormone application can be chosen which affects the desired character most in the application.
