Abstract (EN)

In this study, the production and characterization of new systems which have the potential to have significant application advantages as an alternative to heat energy storage systems through the existing phase change is aimed. Heat storage through phase change is the most preferred method of thermal energy storage because of its important advantages such as storage density and realization at constant temperature. In this study, polymer systems of salt hydrates are tried to be prepared by suspension polymerization method. Salt hydrates have a number of superior properties in materials capable of storing thermal energy by phase change, such as affordability, availability, diversity, and therefore the resulting application temperature range. However, providing the reversibility of the hydrate water intake and delivery stage brings with it a number of problems. For these reasons, thermal energy storage with salt hydrates has been preferred in some specially designed mechanical systems, ie active storage systems. Organic phase change agents are more expensive than salt hydrates, although they are more stable during application, low availability and low energy storage densities. Some reversible salt hydrate polymer systems have been produced and characterized by DSC and thermal performance analysis devices.
