Abstract (EN)
In this study, some novel biologically active purine derivatives having different substituents at position 9 were synthesized. The substitution reaction of 6-chloropurine with potassium thiocyanate gave 6-thiocyanato-9H-purine. Treatment of 6-thiocyanato-9H-purine with appropriate alkyl halides in the presence of potassium carbonate generated 9-alkyl-6-thiocyanatopurines. 9-alkyl-N-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-9H-purin-6-amines have been synthesized from the reaction of 6-chloro-9-alkyl-9H-purines with 5-aminotetrazole, and 9-alkyl-6-(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-ylthio)-9H-purines have been synthesized from the reaction of 6-chloro-9-alkyl-9H-purines with 1-methyl-5-mercaptotetrazole. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-APT, HR-MS). The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized compounds and the effect of the compounds on DNA were investigated.Key Words : Purine derivative, antimetabolite, tetrazole, DNA interaction, antimicrobial activity
