Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to investigate the relationships of some agronomical characteristics on to grain and straw yield of 4 barley mixtures, 3 pure lines and 3 populations in Diyarbakır conditions. Field trials were conducted in randomized complete block design with four replications in the experimental field of Southeastern Anatolian Agricultural Research Institute in 1995/96 and 1996/97 cropping season. In this study, twenty four different characteristics were subjected to variance analysis in both years. Considering the prerequisites for combined analysis, a joint variance analysis was also performed, and more reliable information was obtained about characteristics. In addition, the yield and biological yield characteristics were also studied in detail. It was obtained from correlation and path analysis that there was positive correlation between earliness vs. grain and straw yield. Contrary, negative relations were detected between late maturity vs. grain and straw yield. It was revealed that some regression equations, showing linear relations between some post flowering stage characteristics vs. grain and straw yield, described variations in grain and straw yield adequately with high R2 values. The highest grain yield was obtained from Wadi Hassa, Mix 1, Pop 08 ve Mix 3, and although it isn't statistically significant, Pop 39, Pop 42 and Zambaka took place in first ranges for stalk yield. Excluding the populations due to the lack of seed supply, it was concluded that, Wadi Hassa and Zambaka varieties must be preferred for high grain and straw yields respectively. Mixtures depending on the combination ratio can be grown for either purpose perfectly.Key words : barley mixtures, grain and straw yield, sustainable agriculture
