The effect of body language on teaching Turkish foreigners

Our aim on this research that we have studied on the effect of body language on teaching Turkish language to foreign is to teach vocabulary by using body language actively. We have intended to create a cultural body language understanding for students and to take attention to the body language of the teacher in order to motivate students for the lesson. In the beginning of this research, the problem that explains why we have studied on this subject , the sentence of problem, sub problems, aim of the research , importance of the research, method of the research , hypothesis, extents and limits, data gathering techniques, researches about data analysing, have been explained.In the conceptual framework of our research, we have mentioned that what the body language is its importance and features. Then we have also dealt with how body language can be used for teaching Turkish to foreigners. This study has been carried on foreign preparatory students who study on Turkish language in Faculty of Theology in Uludağ Unıversity. Firstly, we have chosen two groups of fifteen students -one of them is testing group and the other is control group-. And the research has been carried on these two groups.These two groups have been tested in the beginning and at the end of the term. And the results have been analysed with SPSS method. At the end of this research, we have observed that the group we have teached vocabulary by using body language has been more successful than the other group we have teached vocabulary by using classical method.
