Regarding the concepts of physical education, physical education teacher, sports education: A meta-synthesis description

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the current status of the researches related to the concepts of physical education, physical education teacher and sports education in Turkey, based on the research findings. In the study, meta-synthesis research method, which is a qualitative research design, was used to synthesize quantitative, qualitative and mixed research findings. Considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 187 studies, 91 Master's and Doctoral Thesis and 96 Articles, prepared in 2012-2023 using qualitative, quantitative and mixed research methods that can serve the purpose of this meta-synthesis study, were included in the research. The studies handled in this context are grouped under 7 main themes. "Attitude", "Sociology", "Faculty and College", "Psychology", "Sport History", "Problems" and "Values Education" were analyzed. As a result, physical education and sports have taken shape by showing various changes since the existence of human beings. In addition, it has been concluded that physical education lesson/teacher helps the physical development of individuals, that it is important to have sportive activities in education, and that it is important for the development of athletes. It is thought that the study will be beneficial to the literature.
