Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to examine the impact of Pair Work Practices used in Physical Education Classes on the Aggression Levels of Girls under Protection and Care. The universe of the research consisted of 120 girls who were under care and protection in the Houses of Compassion located in the central district of Düzce, which are affiliated to the central Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services. As the sample group, 48 girls living in the Houses of Compassion (two houses suitable for our study were selected from among five houses) affiliated to Düzce Family and Social Policies Provincial Directorate participated in the study."Buss-Perry Aggression Scale (BPSS)" was used as data collection tool. The scale includes 4 (four) sub-dimensions. Since the data did not show normal distribution, nonparametric tests were applied. The Mann Whitney U test was used for the variables that did not provide the normality assumption; the Kruskal-Wallis was used test for the three or more categories of non-normally distributed variables, and the Mann Whitney U test was utilized to determine which groups had a significant difference among them. In the analyzes done, the level of significance was taken as p<0.05.There was a statistically significant difference in favor of posttest scores (p<0.001) between the aggression scores of girls who are under protection and care, and the experimental group pretest and posttest scores in all sub-dimensions. When we looked at the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test aggression scores (p>0.05), while there was a statistical difference in the sub-dimensions of physical aggression and anger (p<0.001), which was one of the sub-dimensions of the control group, and no statistical difference (p>0.05) in the sub-dimensions of verbal aggression and hostility was found. In the light of the data obtained from the study, it is seen that belonging to a group, acting together and working in pairs diminish the effects of the aggression status of the children who are under protection and care.
