Abstract (EN)
Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels of individuals working as Physical Education Teachers in Erzurum, considering various variables. Materials and Methods: The research group consisted of a total of 202 Physical Education Teachers, including 129 men and 73 women. In the study, a commonly used survey method was applied to systematically and scientifically collect data. As a data collection tool, the study utilized a form developed by the researcher to determine the demographic characteristics of the teachers, along with the "Organizational Commitment Scale," which consists of 15 items on a 5-point Likert scale and 3 sub-dimensions, developed by Penley and Gould (1988) and adapted into Turkish by Ergün and Çelik (2019). Additionally, the "Job Satisfaction Scale," which consists of 20 items on a 5-point Likert scale and 2 sub-dimensions, developed by R.V. Davis, D.J. Weiss, G.W. England, and L.H. Lofquist (1967) and adapted into Turkish by Baycan and Fişek (1985), was used. Since the data showed a normal distribution, a t-test was applied for binary variables and a one-way ANOVA test for three or more variables. Due to the significance of the variables, the LSD test was also conducted. Findings: As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the organizational commitment of the teachers was influenced by gender, marital status, age, workplace, and length of service. Additionally, their job satisfaction was influenced by age, workplace, and length of service. Conclusion: According to the research results, it was observed that teachers with high job satisfaction also had high levels of organizational commitment. Keywords: Physical Education Teacher, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment.
