Investigation of self-efficacy levels of physical education teachers according to various variables (The sample of Istanbul province)

The aim of this research is to examine the level of self-efficacy of physical education teachers in terms of gender, teaching experience, age and type of school in which they are employed, and in doing so, subject knowledge, application of scientific knowledge, intervention in differences in skill levels of students, application in teaching of students with disabilities, teaching in teaching process, evaluation, use of technology to determine the self-efficacy of general teacher training in these areas. A total of 361 physical education teachers participated in the study. Physical education self-efficacy scale was used to collect data. The data were distributed to physical education teachers' associations and social media platforms only over the internet. Data were collected on a voluntary basis. SPSS statistics program was used to analyze the data. Analysis of independent variables t test and one way variance analysis were used. The results of the analysis were evaluated at p <0.05 significance level. When the self-efficacy of physical education teachers were examined, a significant difference was found in gender variable in favor of males and in age variable only a significant difference was found in technology sub-dimension. Physical education teachers who work in all sub-dimensions of high school in the sub-dimension of the duty type of duty in the school type have a high average score when compared to the physical education teachers working in middle school and no significant difference was found. No significant difference was found in teachers according to self-efficacy level experience.
