Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between classroom management behaviors and communication skills of physical education teachers and to examine classroom management behaviors and communication skills according to various variables. The universe of the study consisted of 489 physical education teachers working in Mardin in the 2020-2021 academic year, while the sample of the study consisted of 400 physical education teachers randomly selected from the universe. As a data collection tool in the research, "Physical Education Teachers Classroom Management Behaviors Scale" developed by Ünlü et al., in which data on classroom management behaviors were collected; For communication skills, "Communication Skills Scale-Adult Form (İBÖ-YF)" developed by Bugay and Owen was used. SPSS 22 statistical package program was used in the analysis of the survey data. In the study, frequency, percentage and significance tables were created. Significance was accepted as p<0.005. The t-test was used for pairwise comparisons and the Anova test for more than two comparisons. Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the two scales, and regression analyzes were used to determine the effect of the dimensions. It was found that the classroom management behaviors of the teachers participating in the study had a high average score. According to the age and years of service of the teachers, the results of the teachers who are 41 years old and 16-20 years of service were found to be high. It was observed that female teachers had a higher average score than male teachers in the sub-dimension of teachers' willingness to communicate, which is gender variable. It has been observed that the average scores of communication skills of teachers aged 41 and over are higher than the age of the teachers. It has been observed that the communication skills of teachers with doctoral education level are higher than the education level of the teachers. There is a strong positive relationship between physical education teachers' classroom management behaviors and communication skills. There is a strong positive effect of approximately 71% between communication skills and classroom management behaviors. In addition, it is seen that classroom management behaviors increase communication skills by 51%. Keywords: Physical Education Teachers, Classroom Management Behaviors, Communication Skills
