Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study was to examine the effect of physical education and sports teachers' occupational burnout levels on their job satisfaction. In our study, the relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The universe of the study consists of physical education and sports teachers working in Hakkari province in the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample of the study consists of a total of 231 physical education and sports teachers, 160 male and 71 female, working in public and private schools in Hakkari province in the same period. In this study, the simple random sampling method was preferred, in which the probability of teachers working in public and private schools being included in the sample is equal and random. Within the scope of the research, the personal information form prepared by the researcher (gender, age, marital status, education level, professional experience, status and quality of the school worked) and the Maslach burnout scale and the Minnesota job satisfaction scale were used as data collection tools. The scales and forms were moved to the online environment, and the physical education and sports teachers were allowed to answer the questions in the digital environment. IBM SPSS 25.0 statistics program was used in the analysis of the obtained data. In the study; distribution analysis, descriptive analysis and parametric hypothesis tests of independent sample T test and Oneway ANOVA analysis and Pearson Correlation analysis were used to determine the relationship between groups. When the general results of the physical education and sports teachers' burnout scale and job satisfaction scale were examined in the study; it was seen that factors such as gender, age and marital status created significant differences on burnout and job satisfaction. The effects of education level and professional experience on job satisfaction and burnout were found to be statistically significant. The research results revealed a negative relationship between job satisfaction and burnout. In this context, as job satisfaction increases, burnout levels decrease, and as job satisfaction decreases, burnout levels increase. In addition to the social and economic structure of the region, geographical conditions were among the important factors affecting teachers' job burnout and job satisfaction levels. Administrative duties and the time spent at the school were highlighted as important variables affecting burnout and job satisfaction.
