Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the motivational persistence and subjective vitality levels of the students of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching and the students of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Ordu University School of Physical Education and Sports (BESYO) in terms of gender, age, department, class, parents. The population of the study consists of students studying in the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department and the Sports Management Departments (Normal and Evening Education) 410 (n = 162 female and n = 248 males) students participated in the study. In the research, ''the Personal Information Form'', ''Validity and Reliability Study'' and ''Turkish Form of the Motivational Persistence Scale'' conducted by Sarıçam, Akın, Akın and İlbay (2013) and ''Form of Subjective Vitality Scale Turkish Form'' by Uysal, Sarıçam and Akın (2014) were used. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient Turkish Form of the Motivational Persistence Scale was α = 0.69, whereas the Cronbach Alpha coefficient was found to be α = 0.826. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the Turkish Form of the Subjective Vitality Scale was α=0.84, whereas the Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient was found to be α = 0.853. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, independent samples t-test for paired comparisons one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for data comparisons. As a result, it was observed that there was a statistically positive, moderate and significant relationship between the motivational determination and subjective vitality levels of BESYO students (r = 0,449; p<0,01). When the mean scores of subjective vitality levels (X = 5.26 ± 1.222) and motivational persistence levels (X = 3.79 ± 0.610) are considered it is seen that they have a mean of over 4 for 7-point likert in Turkish Form Subjective Vitality Scale and over 3 for 5-point likert in Turkish Form of Persistence Scale It was found that there was no difference between the student's motivational determination and subjective vitality levels according to gender, age, department, class, mother and father education level (p>0,05). It can be said that males have a more stable and stub bam structure because the scores obtained by men in replicating unreachable targets are statistically higher and meaningful than women.
