Body-interactive experience spaces

Can the body discovered by a journey through Spatial Characteristics? What sort of different options can space offer? In which ways and how can a person interfere the space with his/her body and mind? The research starts with these questions and examines the potentials of the relationships between the concepts of space-body-experience. At the beginning of the study, "space", "body" and "experience" are being examined and a connection among these concepts is established. The relationship between body and space, configuration created by the body in space, body`s effects to space, the ways how body experiences space, how to increase body`s experience in space, is discussed in this study on several situations. We should reconsider the idea that "spatial design methods are only related to architectural elements". That is why space which is the product of architecture is involved in art since the beginning of the 20th Century and has introduced the concept of spatial experience. Now 21st century´s art has abandoned the concept of artwork on a pedestal. As Jonathan Crary specified a new approach is adopted taking its base from "perceptual experience" as subject area, claming the unity of "experienced" space, object, observer-subject and time ;and, bringing them together through and creating new readings, new spatial experiences. This kind of spatial investigations have extended to activities in art as human sensory experience and in this way laid the conceptual messages based on "Experienced arts". Later these studies have been named as "Installations". These studies exposed that; the meaning of the traditional art object creates a situation, which is opposite to the independence of space. That means a special unique relationship between the "artwork", "space" and "subject" is intended to be established. For this relationship, it is possible to talk about the existence of a pluralistic setting, the multiplicity of meanings, open-endedness, audience being "participants" rather than "watchers" and, interactions of subject and space. The objective of the study is to examine "experienced places" which art and architecture has created by these interactions and different different "spatial experiences" that these places offered.
