Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu's artistic style and its effects

In this study, the artistic periods, artistic style, and influences of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu have been examined. Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu is an exemplary figure with his versatile artistry, painting, teaching at the academy, poetry and writing. Inspired by Turkish Folk Art, Artist, emphasized traditional Turkish handcrafts and therefore had a significant impact on the nationalization of Turkish painting. Drawing inspiration from the life scenes of Anatolian people, kilim motifs, embroidery and manuscripts, he created a unique style by examining colors and forms. In his thought structure, he gave meaning to concepts such as national art, Anatolia and local folk art through his art, skillfully reflecting traditional folk motifs in his paintings. Although the artist stated that he adhered to a colorist approach when creating his works, he could not deviate from form. In his early periods, he worked with a descriptive attitude in his examinations of nature and figures, while in later periods, abstract tendencies can be observed. He argued that art should not only be beautiful but also useful. The Artist combined the art of painting with different art forms in an attempt to convey Anatolian Turkish Folk Art in all its aspects. He produced works in various fields such as mosaic, stained glass, sculpture, manuscript art, relief and wall paintings. Additionally, he created significant works by abstracting embroidery patterns and motif decorations geometrically. Based on the information obtained from interviews with Eyüboğlu's students, it has been determined that he was a versatile artist, contributing to Turkish Art by nurturing new artists.
