Examination of children's books of Behiç Ak in terms of principal element of children's literature

In this research, it is aimed to examine Behiç Ak's works of children's literature(children'snovels, short stories and illustrated children's stories ) in terms of the basic elements of children's literature. Within the scope of the research, a selection of 18 books selected by the field expert among 27 children's novels, short stories, picture stories published by Günışığı Kitaplığı, and 6 picture story books published by Can Child Publishing, which Behiç Ak gave in the field of children's literature, constituted the study group. In our research, the document analysis method, which is a qualitative research method, was used. As a result of there search, the external structure features (size, paper, page layout, letters, cover (volume), picture and internal structure features (theme, subject-fiction, character(hero), message, language and expression, environment, literary and educational principles) has been determined that it is suitable for the basic elements of children's literature in terms of principles. In line with the data obtained from the "Children's and Youth's Literature Evaluation Scale" applied within the scope of there search, it has been seen that the works have sufficient and very good scores for all items.
