Examination of the children's novels of Behiç Ak as the main elements of child literature

In this research, it is aimed to examine nine children's novels written by Behiç Ak according to the basic elements of children's literature. They were evaluated in terms of their suitability for children's literature in terms of their internal structure features, external structure features, language and expression features, and as a result of this evaluation, it was concluded that the novels in question generally have the basic qualities of children's literature. The research consists of five sections. In the first part; the problem situation, purpose and importance of the research; problem statement and sub-problems; the limitations of the research and definitions are included. The aim of the research is to examine the basic elements of children's literature in the children's novels written by Behiç Ak for children (dimension, binding, cover, paper type, page layout, letters, picture; subject, main idea and supporting ideas, plot, place, heroes, narrator, time, values; language and expression). In the second part; conceptual topics such as children, literature and the definition of children's literature, the history of children's literature, children's novels and the basic elements of children's literature are included. In addition, Behiç Ak's life, literary personality and works are included in this section. Then, relevant studies in the literature are included. The third chapter includes information about the research method, study group, data collection process and data analysis. This study is a descriptive research, one of the qualitative research methods. Descriptive analysis, one of the qualitative data analysis methods, was used in the analysis of the research data. Document review, one of the qualitative data collection tools, was used in the research. The study group of the research is written by Behiç Ak "Yaşasın Ç Harfi Kardeşliği!", "Postayla Gelen Deniz Kabuğu", "Eve Giden Küçük Tren", "Bebek Annem", "Çatıdaki Gezegen", "Bulutlara Şiir Yazan Çocuk", "Her Şeyi Yanlış Anlayan Kedi", "Tavşan Dişli Bir Gözlemcinin Notları" and "Altı Kırk Dört Dalgası" constitute children's novels.In the fourth chapter, an examination was made regarding whether Behiç Ak's children's novels comply with the basic elements of children's literature and the findings were interpreted. In this section, each book is evaluated separately. In the fifth chapter, results and suggestions are given. As a result of the research, it was determined that, except for a few issues in the work, the works comply with the principles of children's literature and that the works are among the qualified products that should be used in terms of children's literature.
